Subject: Info for this week

So tomorrow is the day we will start to receive notifications on the Reduction in Force. Anyone who might be affected by the RIF, will receive a letter. I am being told if you are working the next couple of days you should receive a duplicate letter from one of your supervisors. David Stone HR and myself will be available to answer questions about the letters and procedures. We will be located in the Ramp Training room throughout the day to assist people with questions. Please feel free to stop in there throughout the day to have your questions answered.

 Also tomorrow is the deadline for Company offered Early-out. If you are thinking of signing up for it do not miss the deadline. I put out an update earlier in the week to communicate the Union was still talking with the company to make some changes to the EO. Those talks are still in progress, however at this stage I am not hopeful any changes will occur. If they do anyone who has already signed up for it will have an opportunity to evaluate the changes.

Finally, I am including the language in the contract that refers to Lifetime Recall.

A.                Recall.  Employees who are involuntarily furloughed from a basic or Lead position will have recall rights to Location(s), Point(s) and/or both as follows:

1.                  Unless an employee’s recall rights have already been satisfied:

 All active and inactive employees as of November 1, 2013 maintain recall rights, in accordance with their Furlough/Recall seniority, to the basic or Lead position, work status, Point(s) and/or Location(s) from which they are laid off until recall is offered and is either accepted or declined;

There was some misunderstanding in this weekends update. I hope this clears it up.

Fraternally,

Bill Pizzuli
District 141 Trustee
LL 1731 Committee Chair CLE
